Road Warrior Challenge

August 2015 saw the start of my 3rd charity challenge. This challenge came about after being told I take my running a little too seriously! so…….. inspired by my childhood wrestling heroes The Road Warriors (Legion of Doom for WWE/WWF fans), I came up with my next crazy running challenge. The aim was to race for 52 weeks, racing at least once a week, with the aim to complete 100 races in the year. The challenge started on the 2nd of August at the York 10k and ended 26 weeks later.

So why the Children’s Hosptial Charity?

Firstly I want to make sure the money I raised went to a good local cause. Secondly having been a patient on numerous occasions during my childhood, I have always wanted to show my thanks in the only the way I know and that was by doing a crazy running challenge. The staff there are the real heroes and go above and beyond everyday. This was my opportunity to give something back to a local charity that plays a vital part in helping children and being able to run, race and raise awareness for this charity, while doing a sport I love was something I very much want to do.
